I WILL NEVER REGRET

Another cold bleak night wraped in a rain soaked sheet
feeling this concrete bed cuddling and draining the load off my feet
people walk by i hear a woman crying
it must be hard to see me
but no one stops or even cares why this child has been set free

the wind in my face as i lay shivering in the glow of the street light
where will i sleep tommorow or will i not wake up tonight
feeling hungry walking all day takes its toll on the body and the mind
watching people stare at me so unkind
they yell and they spit and chase you away
only with public am i safe from the prey
a small boy is ripe for the perverts that play
looking for children and steal them away

as i look back now soon ill be thirty one
wondering how i have done so much to overcome
scars and nightmares are all that is left
of a life of misery i will never regret
but alone in this room i sit and i smile
to be able to say ive lived
quit awhile
