One Right After The Other

One right after the other
They set themselves up for heartache
Walking upon broken glass
To be sent back with more pain than they can take

One right after the other
They line up for the fall
To ask a daring question
Only to be sent home barely able to crawl

One right after the other
They take a fast, steep dive
Off the ledge that they built up
Only to feel like they're barely alive

One right after the other
They lay their hearts on the line
Wishing, hoping, praying
That they'll recieve something divine

One right after the other
I have to tell them no
It's a fact I'll always hate
But I'm afraid it must be so

Because one right after the other
Every guy before
Made up a new torture
To hurt me a little more
