I still don’t think I believe in Love
And the Happiness I feel might be
something in the water,
Some byproduct of the power plant,
But for once,
One simple, solid moment,
You dance in my mind,
Spinning to catch your breath,
Or serenading me with love songs.

I met you, both you and I were alone
in the midst of a faceless crowd.
Some knowing force inside me gave me courage,
And I had more in common with you
Than even I believe.

Every time I see you I feel new;
You use every excuse you have to
ask me to stay,
walk you to class,
eat with,
talk with,
stay with,
and for once in my life,
I don’t fear the future. I don’t
hate the past.
Every moment I spend with you is a moment
I feel like there’s some worth in
being Me.
Waking has a purpose. Sleeping brings
slices of Heaven, only
surpassed by
waking the next morning.

Thank you
for smiling, singing, laughing.
Thank you for being.

I still think I believe in Love.
And the Happiness I feel might Be.
