The Habit

I keep nibbling and biting
But this habit I'm fighting
I'm determind to stop biting my nails,
I start with intentions
So good but should mention
That with every attempt I fail.
With willpower renewed
For these fingers I've chewed
As they're really becomming quite sore,
But once I sit thinking
I'm sure they start winking
And beg me to bite them some more.
So nibble, I do
Just one, maybe two
I'll start with my middle finger,
But once nibbled I notice
And question my motives
As the soreness begins to linger.
Determination refreshed
I must do my best
This habit I really must conquor,
But as I sit reeling
From this sore nibbled feeling
Oh! how i wish my nails were longer!!.
