Seventeen in all

Evanescent thoughts
stream from every pore and wound
still they leave me dry
Five times my heart beats
Seven times it fails again
seventeen in all
Fallen from your grace
I am not and never will
but it feels like it
I cannot breathe and
my heart breaks every time I
move until I stop
The stuff I've done would
hurt a man so much that he
would not speak again
Yet you oh perfect
messenger and ever liv
ing word of god won't
You let this ever
wothless vessel step into
your court and bow down
At your feet and wash
them with his hair and kiss them
Tenderly, oh Lord
In the shadow of
golgotha I will humbly
stand and wait for you
to cross the void that
I created selfishly
and refill my cup
To pour the oil in
to my wounds of spirit and
of flesh my Jesus
To speak the words that
every heart oh so crudely
broken needs to hear
In me fulfillment
and peace and love and joy and
grace and faith oh Lord
He who broke the chains
of hell and who stole the whips
of lucifer's guards
I am alpha and
I omega the mountains
praise my holy name
I the warrior
ever ready for the war
when my father calls
And I, Lord Jesus
only ask to sit at your
feet and worship you
Your name like honey
to my soul and all it is
will be enough Lord
I shall serve you Lord
your plan shall be my orders
and I will follow
A tool of your hand
and a love of your heart, a
plan of your genius
This is what I am
and ever will be as I
am in your prescence
Abba oh father
Lord of my heart only one
of my soul and mind
Five times my heart beats
Seven times it fails again
seventeen in all
But you shall heal it
Jesus, Lord, God forever
Name above all names
