DARKENED

Why do I hold on to my dark side
When the light could help me heal
The anguish and the emptiness
That stole away my dreams.
Do I really want to be like this
Helpless but not yet lost
Trembling with an inner-fear
The knowing is what scares me the most
To remain trapped inside this state of worthlessness
Of desolate nights and the weirdest thoughts
My mind remains twisted, angered
Making my soul to pay the cost
I reside somewhere
In between good and evil
Neither black nor white
But eternally grey
Until the blessing I’m hopelessly longing for
Will finally come to wash away this pain
