Where daylight creeps upon us, shines on through the breeze,
And calls my name, in melancholy tone,
Begging that I remember a night, long ago, far from home,
The sounds of that season danced through the sea air,
Wine flowed with the music, and we moved without care,
Oh, sweet times, wherever did you go?
A heart so full of love that I had yet to learn to know,
Emotions both shaded and kept us warm,
As we’d twist in the water, both free of form,
Those few days in life that I’d gladly relive,
The days I learnt to take, the days I learnt to give,
Had you told me than that we’d both be here,
A time far away, yet seemingly near,
I should not have believed that we would last,
Would have chosen to think all we shared would be past,
That we’d have both grown up, gotten older, moved on;
How happy am I that time proved me wrong. See it, that distant memory of summer, hiding in the shadows of trees,
Where daylight creeps upon us, shines on through the breeze,
And calls my name, in melancholy tone,
Begging that I remember a night, long ago, far from home,
The sounds of that season danced through the sea air,
Wine flowed with the music, and we moved without care,
Oh, sweet times, wherever did you go?
A heart so full of love that I had yet to learn to know,
Emotions both shaded and kept us warm,
As we’d twist in the water, both free of form,
Those few days in life that I’d gladly relive,
The days I learnt to take, the days I learnt to give,
Had you told me than that we’d both be here,
A time far away, yet seemingly near,
I should not have believed that we would last,
Would have chosen to think all we shared would be past,
That we’d have both grown up, gotten older, moved on;
How happy am I that time proved me wrong.
