Domestic Bliss

When we started, both in disguise, never saw each others faces, never knew it was all lies. Blissful evenings by candlelight, both hiding from the others sight.
Both afraid to be alone, now, our insecurities have grown.
Packing bags, saying goodbye, both ashamed we want to cry.
It won’t do, we cant keep trying, if we cant control our lying.
“Honey I’m home” each night I’d drone, he’d mone, we’d smile I don’t want to be alone. Each night I’d keep my feelings inside, angry, bitter, no longer alive.
Each night he’d shout and scream and yell until the night, I quote “I fell” it didn’t hurt, it made him cry and then the ever lasting lie.
“I didn’t mean to I’m sorry dear” don’t fret this didn’t cause me fear, I took a knife from the kitchen draw and now he’s shouting from the floor. And so we pack and leave, we don’t look back and we don’t grieve, its our burden we have to bare, we never should have brought the house, its obvious that we cant share!
