In the latter-----------------------------
Thoughts they cross
As shells they push
It ain't no loss
I just tell my mind -Hush-
& I shove those whispers back

In the late....................................
I just tell myself no
As the idea is a needle
Pushing into the cloud it sowed
I just try to hush the keep hold
As I shove those whispers down

Now,
In the morning
I awake to walk the land
Your name on the tip of my brain
I don't care if it goes or stays
This day will be today just the same

I cross twenty acres
I push shell and broken arrowheads
I look thru the foot hills
& take a nap in a tree
Even though I'm five hundred seventy miles from thee
I scratch my heart for sweet words to bleed

Later--------------------------------
In four years or so
I might come to write them down
When you're 1200 miles away

I kiss the thoughts
& memories you gave
Although we could never save
Sweetheart I hope you're still smiling today
