Little girl ...

I can picture you lying there
(Cause I was once there too...)
And what about those bruises?
Where did they come from?
Fractured ribs, busted lips
no more sweet kisses from your mouth...
And your eyes can't cry no more
but your spirits aches ever so much
Did your heart stop beating
as your fingers lost their touch?
What did you say with your last breath
What was that last thought that slipped your mind
That faithful night, were you surrounded by darkness
or did you see that eternal light?
I can picture you lying there, all alone
Body turning cold in the wet green grass
Did you feel anger or just relief
when finally all came to pass...
