The stars come out to play
I hold my broken heart in hand
And cry tears of sorrow
Too young
I hate those words
I hear them daily it seems
But to hear you say them
Broke me down
Too much pain to bear
I know I'm young but I'm so mature
If you only knew how much I love you
Why is it so hard for me to be
Who I am?
I thought you said "age doesn't matter"
Honestly, I thought you cared
Standing on the rooftop
Of the grain elevator overlooking your home
I stare at the front door until, like clockwork, you appear
A smile spreads across my face, not happy
It's a ruefull smile, full of angst
As I pull the trigger
Down I fall, Our eyes lock, yours in panic mine in sorrow
You run towards my falling form, but it's too late
I'm lost in the darkness, your face embedded in my hollow eyes
Time goes slow as the ground rushes to meet me
I watch you running, your eyes full of tears
Calling my name but I can't hear you
All I hear is that moment, the moment my heart broke
And your voice saying those dreadful words

Waiting, I watch the sun set

If you only knew how much I love you
