Let's just call this a tribute to the pranksters in my life. I am glad they never truely grew up! [bodytext] => Does anyone ever truly look at the class clown?
They give us the greatest healer of all
Working so hard at it everyday
That they have no energy for anything else
Shall we wonder at the motive at all?
Or the stories behind the mask?
Nah, we're not gonna look at that
Let's give them a pill
They disrupt our thoughts
There must be something wrong
Behind that mask
Let's give them a pill
I thought it sad as a child
It makes me angry now
Cause no one wants to look inside
It's like turning off the television
After your favorite program
We're done laughing
So we're done watching
It's time for your jokes to stop
Go take your Ritalin!
Oh, it's not that drug now
Cause that one kills now
But what about before
Why was it the pill then
When i was a kid, and it was my friends?
The class clown should be embraced
No one appreciates what they do
That laughter medicates the soul
Leave your Prozac on the shelf, Doc
It has not saved me yet
But none of my friends ever died
From whole-hearted laughter
So I thank that man
Who saved my life
He made me laugh
When I wanted to die
I meant it when I said it
Now I write it for the whole world
