[title] => I am learning to love again
[time] => 2009-02-01 21:24:06
[hometext] => this is an imitative poem of Linda Pastan's
[bodytext] => I am learning to love again
before I lose my chance.
Already I have tried to forget your eyes
and lips, shielding my thoughts
from the endless memories.
And you have stolen
my heart, my life.
I have torn up the pictures
and notes of your love,
moving to an empty, white frame.
But the doorbell rings with soft
echoes of your voice and scent.
A sweatshirt in the closet
which was merely cloth moments ago
takes back its warmth
stitch by loving stitch.
And as I take you back
your arms fold around my waist
as if to say it's forever.
