The Game

Little was gained, yet something precious was lost.
Tails was the outcome of the coin that was tossed.
We all bet to win, though most of us lose.
We know all the risks and yet we still choose.
The standards are high though the chance is not great.
We take a deep breath and leave the rest up to fate.
Love is a game.
A gamble.
A risk.
Sometimes you lose and sometimes you win.
You lay your cards on the table or roll the dice.
Bet all of your winnings and never think twice.
We leap into emotion sometimes so blind.
Hoping by chance for the love of our lives.
So will you try your luck for a taste of heaven?
Take a losing bet?
Or roll a lucky number seven?
