If I Do It, Will You Love Me?

I'm so lonely
Could you please be my friend
I cry myself to sleep sometimes
I try to be included
but my efforts go unnoticed
by you and your clique
I'm so afraid
to step out
and be my own
Will you hurt me
I've seen what you do
Maybe I should turn cold
be like you
want me to be
Become calloused
and abused inside
Hold it in they say
Don't fall down they shout
Be a sinner they yell
I've learned now
that emotions hurt
I should keep them buried
from you and your clique
Make like you
and don't say a word
Will you accept me then
If I hide my scars
with your disguise
All I want is to be noticed
Be acknowledged
for who I am
I won't be myself
but if I do it
will you love me?
