Though the circumstances were a little grim,
my chances of making it were more than slim.

You pulled me out of my empty shell,
took me by the hand and pulled me from hell.
You showed me what a friend could be,
from just listening to being trustworthy.

You made me feel like I really mattered,
and all along I was truly flattered.
You made me feel very special you see,
like I was the only woman your eyes could see.

Now I can walk with my head held high,
My confidence rising, my self worth returning.
I am becoming the person I use to be.

So, my friend as you can see,
if only for a moment, you were good for me.
So when you hear there are Angels among us,
don't hide your eyes nor close your ears,
because as you can see:

When I met my friend my new life had just begun.
Though the circumstances were a little grim,
