Long ago and made me feel strange

Before I meet you I was a nice person
But to forgiving and kind
I liked that a lot more.
Then you made me blind

I know you and I are not the same
We are as different as can be
But for once in your life
Can you really think of me?

I really didn’t mean to cause
The pain that I did
And I can easily put
Back on my lid

My lid to myself
And the way you made me
May not have done it on peruse
But now I will lock it and put away the Key.

I want to be friends
That can be friends without a fight
But is that even possible
If you don’t give me back the light

Did you really say it was over?
Or is that not what you said
