Who would be left, if He came today,
In this moment, in this twinkling of an eye,
Who would be left under an overcast sky,

Young lovers walking hand in hand down the boardwalk,
Giggling teenage girls as they laugh, cry and joyfully balk,
Mothers and fathers with there little ones milling all about,
Little boy blue blowing his bugle full of fear and doubt?

Who would be left to face the darkness,
That would so soon come, when there is no more light,
Shaking and shivering full of fear and blight?

Who would be left,

Newlyweds plotting and planning there life,
Senior citizens battling to overcome fear and strife,
Unknown heart beats, beating with trouble and anxiety,
Painted faces hiding weak and pathetic souls,
In this our bleak and dark society?

Who would be left,

In the midst of worship, as angelic voices raise,
And the sanctuary is filled with adoration,
And the sweet fragrance of praise,

Who would be left,

As the choir and the congregation,
set there faces toward heaven,
Blessing the name of the Lord,
Tied together with a threefold cord,

Who would be left,

Wondering and pondering with doubt and many-many fears,
Crying aloud, flooded with great sorrow,
And grief and many-many tears?

WHO WOULD BE LEFT?

WHO WOULD BE LEFT?

Who would be left, if He came today,
In this moment, in this twinkling of an eye,
Who would be left under an overcast sky,

Young lovers walking hand in hand down the boardwalk,
Giggling teenage girls as they laugh, cry and joyfully balk,

Who would be left to face the darkness,

Shaking and shivering full of fear and blight?

Who would be left,

Newlyweds plotting and planning there life,
Senior citizens battling to overcome fear and strife,
Unknown heart beats, beating with trouble and anxiety,
Painted faces hiding weak and pathetic souls,
In this our bleak and dark society?

Who would be left,

In the midst of worship, as angelic voices raise,
And the sanctuary is filled with adoration,
And the sweet fragrance of praise,

Who would be left,

As the choir and the congregation,
set there faces toward heaven,
Blessing the name of the Lord,
Tied together with a threefold cord,

Who would be left,

Wondering and pondering with doubt and many-many fears,
Crying aloud, flooded with great sorrow,
And grief and many-many tears?

WHO WOULD BE LEFT?
