When the flowers bloom or the rain gently sings.

I remember the poetry recited with care,

the words lightly ring sweet in my ears.

I remember you with the first blush of dawn.

When the night slips away and the sun peeks in.

I remember you when the river gently flows

and the last big fish of the day was reeled in.

I remember you when the fields all turn gold

across the dry farms back home.

The places you always loved the best

you always heard the echo's of home.

I remember you today though Im to far away

to go the your final resting place.

So I will write a verse instead of giving the flowers

to place upon your final resting place.

The cemetary along the hillside, with old pines lining the drives.

I can hear the white morning dove softly calling

looking over you from above.

I remember you always, you are with me still.

In loving memory of my Uncle Dale, a poet, a war vetran, a lover of nature.

I miss you always.
