My poetry seems led astray.
Waxing and waning with the moon.
Spilling with the seas ebb and flow
coming and going with the tides.

Rolling over mountains with the thunder.
Pouring and stopping with wild rains.
Hide and seek childhood type games
like the weather mans famous sun breaks.

The words playing peek-a-boo with me.
Trapped inside my head.
Hours spent staring at empty pages
blue of the ink pen turning blood red.

Reminding me of the barren desert plains
where at once I lived.
The sands covering all that was before
the path covered over again.
