Breeze has turned to bluster, and with each my soul does quiver.
Each radiant sunset drains the color from the earth.
Shadowy grey's and off-white's now plague my landscapes,
and for this, my soul, does weep.
Tall green fields, now crab grass.
My oceans blue mystery,
now reduced to lifeless glass.
Extremities become numb,
loss of touch from the softest skin.
Heavy breathe, a cloudy vapor,
is the loss of summer,
from within.
Jovial clouds now wind swept,
and cast away from the celestial earthscape.
The sun greets us,
but greets us as a scorned lover, an empty shell with beaten beauty.
Oh, winter's bones, how quickly you grow. I feel my winter's bones begin to grow.
