Sometime I just sit and listen to the wind blow
Listen as it howls right outside my window
I hear an unearthly call
As I curl into a ball.
Sometimes I listen to the rain
Each drop echoing in my brain
Then I hear that unearthly call
As I shudder against the wall.
Sometimes I just watch the rain
It’s intricate dance across the windowpane
Then I hear that unearthly call
It itches up my spine, bounces off the wall.
Sometimes I watch the sun rise
I watch it as it walks through the skies
Then I hear that unearthly call
I hear clawing through the wall.
He’s near
And coming here.
I’ve known—as I listened to the wind
And as the rain thinned
I’ve seen him grow
As he stood outside my window.
That call, those claws
My tormentors flaws
His strength is built on patience
My patience
He’s near
I cannot fear.
I’ve known through the wind and rain
He’s deep inside my brain
Then I hear that unearthly call
Insanity has broken through the wall.
