I wonder what went wrong
Everything I wanted in life
Suddenly is gone

I close my eyes and fold my hands
And say a lengthy prayer
I ask for just another chance
I cry "This isn't fair"

I ask for just a single sign
That my life will start anew
I pray for love and help for once
"Please tell me what to do"

I say amen and look around
I begin to have some doubt
I ask again for just one sign
My light flickers and goes out

I wake up to the morning sun
And stumble out of bed
I'm still broken and I'm still alone
I might as well be dead

My phone lights up and beeps just once
Did he really hear my prayer?
Did he send someone into my life
That for me, truly cares?

I open my phone and turn it on
I slowly start reading the text
It stirs my soul and opens my mind
But I don't know what to do next

Could it be? He heard my prayer?
Could any of this be true
I guess God works in his own strange ways

As I lay in bed alone
