_______

it's the thing you must defend that eventually will end you.
it's the depths you rightly feared that you foolishly descend to.
it's the future looking back that revealed the real pretend you.
it's the monster you called friend that wore the face God lent you.

in the wish that wanders lost, the answers fade and hide.
in the crawlspace of your soul, the laughter lived and died.
in the rasp of your last gasp, the grave won't be denied.
in that plush and hungry tomb, the doomed and damned reside.

if the angels screamed at God, the Winged Wronged their halos threw,
if the bloody past split scars, the demons can break through.
if tooth and nail admit defeat, stick and stone can then subdue.
if fight and spark abandon, the curse will be renewed.
