Hurtful Words

Why do I do this with such ease and haste
Sling hurtful words with misinterpreted grace
They slay me just as much... this once again I do face
How can I do this with such ease and haste
I am ashamed of myself to this I admit
To be this weak and to surrender to it
Feeling this rage my heart it does split
Please Angels please, help me to stop it
My love is true, like no other for you
But this situation we are in has turned my heart blue
It no longer bleeds red since my pain grew
But I still reach out for only you
It kills me slowly each and every day
I have no choice but to again walk away
I wish this feeling would change to gray
In purgatory I would gladly stay.
To feel no hurt
To see some change
To know no love I do pray.
To wipe this slate clean and start again
In a world less complicated would be my chosen domain
Despite this complicated word my love does not wane
I still bleed for you from this open vein.
The words I say so harsh and hateful.
To find such a love we should be grateful
I should focus on that but it seems I am unable
Impossible… my mind tells me because this love is unstable
From the first man in my life, my unworthy father
I have been guarded and I have locked down my heart deeper and farther
To try to protect it is much harder
To run before I am abandoned again I cloak it in armor
I do not expect you to understand or accept my faults
or why I hide inside of this this vault
I can only say entrapped in a true love’s waltz
I don't mean to launch onto you these assaults.
As I truly do not know why with such ease
I sling hurtful words with unthoughtful haste
And because off this once again I do face
Being without you because of my own disgrace
