Other women couldn’t help your healing.
A lock on your heart drove them away,
There was only one that tried to stay.

You decided to keep your paths divided.
You’re intentions, while good, were misguided,
The guilt you feel keeps your heart locked away,
Do you know, if still alive, what she would say?

She’d tell you to keep moving,
To never stop loving.
Then she’d give you her usual lovely smile,
And say to think about her once in a while.

She’d tell you to love the women that tried to stay,
The one who laughed when at restaurants you’d forgot to pay.
The women who helped you through your pain,
When for her there was nothing to gain.

So find in your heart a seedling of love,
The one you miss will smile, and watch it grow, up from above.
