Would be a lie.
No matter the present,
All burned bridges remain,
A testament to my young carelessness's
Acclaim.
Still, though, a precarious friendship has forged.
Though my heart still beats the same,
I don't dare breathe her name.
I tell her nothing's left
But am sure she can see through this facade,
And nothing less do I expect from her.
History is forever doomed to repeat itself,
Like a broken record we've already been.
Loving and leaving,
A tragedy, a travesty.
And the reason why
I don't dare breathe of my affection,
For fear she feels the same,
And our broken record skips one again. To say the past doesn't matter
Would be a lie.
No matter the present,
All burned bridges remain,
A testament to my young carelessness's
Acclaim.
Still, though, a precarious friendship has forged.
Though my heart still beats the same,
I don't dare breathe her name.
I tell her nothing's left
But am sure she can see through this facade,
And nothing less do I expect from her.
History is forever doomed to repeat itself,
Like a broken record we've already been.
Loving and leaving,
A tragedy, a travesty.
And the reason why
I don't dare breathe of my affection,
For fear she feels the same,
And our broken record skips one again.
