The size of the wedding does not bring success!
Catered and draped in an overpriced dress;
Think of the thousand$ on flowers and food!
Just for the sake of saying I DO.
Two little words so easy to say!
All of it spent to give her away!
I propose (pardon pun) that the money be planned;
To shore up her woes when her fate hits the fan.
Let me assure you she marched to the alter;
Never suspecting the mating would falter!
Alas! Weve no plan for one unbetrothed!
Whos feeling unlovely and heartily loathed!
Why NOW is the time she needs praise and support;
A party to ease her from courting to court!
I say we celebrate! Send invitations!
Hire a band and order libations!
Dress to the nines and gather around her;
Bring her a gift that will simply astound her!
Tell her shes beautiful, clever and funny;
Cover her dress with pins full of money!
Dance her and dine her and eat her bouquet;
Rent her a limo to whisk her away!
A bit of our time is surely worth spending;
To give her at least her fond happy ending!
The launch of a ship needs less I am thinking;
To keep it afloat than when it is sinking!
Perhaps when were gifted that wedding invite;
If we read statistics (and trust that theyre right)
Well opt to spend less on the launch of the shrew;
And set some aside for gift number two!
