Veins and blood dripping with doubt
This body, this home
These four walls are nowhere to go
Trapped inside with no room to breathe
Oh, how I wish I could go to Lethe
To have my mind and soul stripped bare,
To leave this world without a care
Not a care for anything,
Silly fights, no puppet strings
No time for vengeance, or brow-beating
Time on this earth is ever fleeting
Decaying slowly right before your eyes
A smile is just a twist; a lie in disguise
Something you can use to charm your friends,
Or hold tightly onto ‘till the very end
Sinking into the lowering tide
I wonder when did life pass me by?
Whenever the trees did sway,
Or was it always there, plain as day?
Did the nights grow longer as I grew colder,
Giving my loved ones the coldest of shoulders?
Did I retreat into my safe place,
So I could be loved and truly encased?
Surrounded by these four walls,
My mind increasingly roaming the halls
There is one true thing that could withstand time,
It is the thought of you, by my side

Rotting from the inside out
Veins and blood dripping with doubt
This body, this home
These four walls are nowhere to go
Trapped inside with no room to breathe
Oh, how I wish I could go to Lethe
To have my mind and soul stripped bare,
To leave this world without a care
Not a care for anything,
Silly fights, no puppet strings
No time for vengeance, or brow-beating
Time on this earth is ever fleeting
Decaying slowly right before your eyes
A smile is just a twist; a lie in disguise
Something you can use to charm your friends,
Or hold tightly onto ‘till the very end
Sinking into the lowering tide
I wonder when did life pass me by?
Whenever the trees did sway,
Or was it always there, plain as day?
Did the nights grow longer as I grew colder,
Giving my loved ones the coldest of shoulders?
Did I retreat into my safe place,
So I could be loved and truly encased?
Surrounded by these four walls,
My mind increasingly roaming the halls
There is one true thing that could withstand time,
It is the thought of you, by my side
