no mud on our feet.

Comfort from birth,
comfort in death,
untouched by life,
first to last breath.

No choice to be born here,
it just happened to be,
yet this American dream?
None of it/'/s free.

The horror is knowing,
we choose gilded cage,
at the cost of the world,
that views us in rage.

Third world for first,
seems a poor choice,
Yet Gandhi, Jesus, Siddhartha;
long dead, but all still have a voice.

No freezing, no heat,
no rain touches our head,
no mud on our feet.
