There...there in the rear view mirror,
I see you again, my friend.
When you held that gun up,
I swore we were at an end, we had crossed a bend.
So now I/'/m leaving Santa Fe/'/,
I/'/m running hard away from you again,
but your smile chases me,
why can/'/t I see another face, find another friend.
You, it always comes back around to you,
no matter what was said, what you did,
I can/'/t escape the simple truth,
I/'/m a broken jar without a lid,
and even though I buried you in the desert wind,
Oh, the night sang so hard, the wind it blew,
now I don/'/t know if I/'/m running from, or if I/'/m chasing you.
