nothing changed
everything remained the same
I was still in pain

family and friends gather round
even the haters view my body now
young ones looking at the casket
wondering how the legend lost his magic
feeling oh so tragic

I remember being ignored
always wanting more
never getting what I was needing
self medicating was the only way I could endure

in and out of love
never realizing love is a drug
getting kissed by poison lips
demons feeding off my blood

now as I am on the outside looking in
I see all things I should have been doing
but
the seeds of the lie planted in my mind
from the day I was born had made me blind

I can still remember all the wrong did to me
thorns of Illusion killing the thrill I seek
If I am still dwelling on bad memories
how the hell am I suppose to rest in peace.
