[hometext] =>
[bodytext] => Staring at thick clouds,
like a sheet of raw cotton
stretched across the sky;
small patches of blue
here and there
in spots where the cotton
was stretched too thin.
Even the birds feel
the heavy gloom this day,
so in their nests, they stay;
not one seen flying.
"Looks like rain" I say
as i puff my cigarette
quickly,
hoping to get inside
before the first drops fall.
Days like this
my energy is drained from me;
just want to crawl in bed
and sleep all day.
Maybe the birds
had the right idea
when they stayed in their nests.
