We’re a nation wasting time:
For your paycheck; at your bank;
In the ER, no one ranks!

Wait for coffee, wait to dine;
stand here in the stand-here line;
Take a ticket! Wait and STOP!
Circle for a parking spot;

Line forms here to pay for gas;
No one gets a go-first pass!
It’s your money if and when;
You wait outside the ATM!

Movie tickets, plays, and shows
Even sales have lines you know!
Clerks cannot be found in stores
Unless, of course, you wait some more!

Dry cleaners and Valets must;
See that little stub to trust;
Cause they know your arent sure;
Which car and laundry’s really yours!

Corporate malls are wondering why,
Their business has begun to die;
They blame it on the internet!
Not the service we don’t get!

Why drive and park and carry sacks;
With swollen feet and aching backs?
To hunt for hours and to your shock;
Find they’ve run right out of stock!

They’ll order it, but somewhat late;
And all you have to do is wait!
And take off work, just in time;
Because youll have to come and sign.

Thank you but I’ll shop on line;
In my pajamas, while I dine;
On pizza brought here straight away,
On paper plates I throw away.

The CDC has set us straight;
They say we’re grossly over-wait!
Here’s to pastimes more rewarding;
Than long lines and phone recordings!

I just thought you ought to know;
So it won’t come as such a blow;
One day youll have to blink to buy;
To read the barcode in your eye.

I hope I leave before that day;
They tell me its not far away;
Until we need a reservation;
Just to get a reputation!
