of all the treasures lost at sea,
I yearn to get my hands on thee

diamonds, rubies, precious gems,
stolen by the weather’s whims
gold and silver, bullion bars,
the lost hopes of grizzled tars.

coins in bony hands of kings,
still grasping dreams in their demise;
rings and pearls and brilliant things,
eliciting both awe and sighs

and you my dear, precious still,
I just can’t seem to get my fill;
but all the sparkling things above,
will never win to me your love

of all the treasures birthed by sea,
I ache to win the heart of thee.
