Everything that we admire; surrenders to a greater fire;
A never ending game of score; ignoring what we have for more.

Candlelight was once the height of all romantic glow.
Until one night it met the moon, where lovers go you know.
The moon shone proud and well endowed, until the sunrise came;
Whose brilliant light washed out the night, and put the moon to shame.

A mountain lake, is known to take your breath away to see;
But there it stays for all its days, unchanged unendingly.

While rivers cut their winding paths through canyons made of stone;
And waterfalls ground rocks to dust in roaring fells of foam.

All three bow to the ocean; the queen of waterways.
Whose fame is renowned; The earth around;
Holding court over watery graves.

We all are rare, until compared with what we can’t attain;
Perhaps the test of happiness is natures own refrain;
As the beach embraces tides; to cradle stormy seas;
At peace it lies, with arms spread wide; and would not elsewhere be.
