While I struggle to quell nerves
tossing and turning on those nights
A stubborn man, I can be
while I only acuse you
of doing what it is, to me
the same I do to you
I think the catalyst to all of this
Is the weight of you to me
Its like Ive been gasping for breath
and youve taught me how to breathe
"Ive never been in love" she says
as a stream of salt spills down her cheek
I wipe it off and take a breath
to quell the guts from spilling out of me
Because God knows I havent been either
a twisted trail of failed attempts
but in her eyes, I catch a glimmer
a hope for what is next
Ive never thought while with a suitor
that I could spend my life
sometimes, I know...Im crazy
but I swear youll be my wife
"How can you be sure?" she asks
One vexed one resolute
the answer, I am certain
is how all questions lead to you
Like who I am, and who Ive been
and where Im going to go
No longer is it I and me
its we and you should know
that I crumble and I fail sometimes
a man at the end of the day
but one who knows there is no one else
that could make me feel this way
And so it guts me when I see you cry
I shake with nerves when I know youre stressed
I wish I could take all your pain away
instead of supplying you with it
While I am flawed, sometimes selfish
dont fight fair or think too fast
I promise each day I will love you
one pinch more than the last
and at the rate I already do
in time, you will see
there is no one out there
who can love you more than me
