Laying here contemplating life,
Wandering how I went from being a wife.
To single and living back at home.
No longer with a life partner, but alone.
I was looking for a sign of what to do,
But I didn/'/t think it would be a who.
The sign was as obvious as could be,
I would be blind not to see.

I left.

You didn/'/t believe I would do it.
But you kept stomping on my heart, you broke it.
Piece by piece, shard by shard.
Leaving you should been hard.

I left.

I went to work the next day.
I didn/'/t know what to say,
Many times I sat in my car and cried.
Tears that I had to dry and hide.
Not tears for you, but tears for the journey ahead.
Because my heart had already been broken and bled.

I left

I sat down with a lawyer on our anniversary,
Since you did your deed on my birthday, with no mercy.
I thought it would make me sad, but I was relieved.
I left with the divorce proceedings achieved.
