And swiftly grew (who knew?) into an eight thousand dollar tab.
Three plumbers came to bang and saw and rip apart the walls.
Leaving holes in every room while they replaced it all.
For seven days they dug and soldered, grunted, groaned and cussed.
The garage was filled with tools and pipes; the house with ghostly dust.
But I am now the owner of a brand new water system!
Although Im thankful for their skills, I can’t say I will miss them.

Cause now I need a drywall guy to patch and sand and fill;
Followed by a painter to roll and brush until
It looks more like a home to us than a construction site.
For easy monthly payments pledged beyond my afterlife.
