The gooey fluey germs spread throughout the village fast.
Til everyone was sneezing and coughing in their masks.
Mayor Headcheese ordered that every shop shut down.
Even parks and beaches around the Elfin town.

There was no pill, or potion or magic cure they knew.
Why even wise old wizards were sneezing in their stew.

One sick little Elfin was sleeping in the sun,
in his swingy hammock, away from everyone.
He quickly got much better. Why? No one knows for sure.
But they opened up the beaches hoping for a cure.

Imagine their surprise when the sunshine baked away
the germs that they were hiding in the dark from yesterday.
The mayor asked the sun to shine both night and day.
and very very slowly the flu germs baked away.

The shops and parks were never dark, and opened carefully.
The sun shone bright with all its might and soon the fluey fleed.

The little Elfins wash their hands and clean their shops each day.
They don’t trust those fluey germs, to all have gone away.
“What we can/'/t see, still could BE! The wisest Elfins say!
