I woke up and could no longer feel you near me

It wasn’t painful, a currency expended long ago and beaten into submission

It was a mystery. All I had believed in without intent was suddenly lost

I was comforted several times over. You had finally moved on and I could now fully embrace my life I had created for myself

I was happy for you and excited for me. Truly a new beginning. Rebirth

Time passed and I stopped thinking of you. It was a peaceful uncoupling of a long tortured connection

I smiled more and felt myself change, but not completely. I also mourned.

Until a quiet Saturday

It seized my consciousness abruptly with an impending nausea laden with giddiness and desire

You were thinking of me once again... our souls entangling with familiarity and longing

It makes me sick

But it’s the most comforting love I’ve ever known. It just is. Much like existence. Except, I plan to leave it that way.
