When I Turn Out The Light

Contributed By: Becky
I creep into her bedroom.
I kneel beside her bed.
I ask our Lord to protect her.
Her furture I so dread.
This world is not the same now.
As it was when I was young.
People killing one another.
Men killing their own sons.
Oh, how I do worry.
Bout what tomorrow might bring.
For me, it doesn't matter.
I will soon have my wings.
But I must leave her behind.
Cause its not her time to go.
So Lord, I ask you sincerely.
Please, don't ever leave her alone.
Help her to understand that,
This world is full of sin.
Help her not to get caught up
by the peer pressure of a friend.
Help her to always remember.
What I have taught her through
the years.
Help her to not be so sad.
When I reach my journeys end.
I leave her in your hands Lord.
I know that you'll take care.
So when I come to join you.
I'll know someday, that she too
will be there.
God, please hear my prayer.
