LINGER AWHILE

Topic: Sad Poetry

Your words they float on gentle winds,
Like a melody I hear them there.
I am here,
Sending thoughts of you in the air.

I hear the roll of the ocean breeze,
And the night is filled with song.
The blue sky has fluffy clouds,
Floating lazily along.

Sunshine falls at evenings tide,
Every star is so clear and bright.
Quietly the darkness spreads,
A misty canopy upon the night.

Linger awhile, do not go,
Please don't run away.
All too soon these days will be,
Memories of yesterday.
