Once upon
a golden time,
there lived a lass
beyond divine,
With golden hair,
and em’rald eyes,
angelic smile,
and oh, so wise.
Could ride a horse,
could dance with swords,
with strength of bears,
and voice of lords.
Could outrun dogs,
make arrows glow,
in the blink of an eye,
to bullseye from bow.
Could outhunt skinners,
and outsmith smiths.
Could outtell clerics
in biblical myths.
The ideal man
in a man-run world,
she’d make a fine knight
if she wasn’t a girl.
