Heads or Tails

I flipped a coin to see if you were right,
to see if I needed to give up this fight.
You told me that it couldn't be true,
this feeling I get when I'm holding you.
You said to go on and walk out that door,
and I knew that I had been here before.
Last time you got mad you told me to leave,
and I just stared with vague disbelief.
I couldn't leave the house, leave your side,
leave and walk out on my beautiful bride.
So I watched the coin twisting in the air,
seeing if fourtune would take it from there.
Tails I would go and retire this mess,
heads I would stay and give it my best.
I did not see the coin hit the ground,
as my simple gesture brought you 'round.
You brought me close for a make-up kiss,
and I knew I was close to tasting your bliss.
The coin lying there couldn't look up at all,
for on its face it decided to fall.
