A New Challenge
I’ve embarked on a new challenge,
To start off the new year.
To better myself body and spirit,
While not letting negatives come near.
To think positive in all things,
Learn to speak, and when too not.
Control all that’s around me,
Use knowledge I once was taught.
Grab for stars once out of reach,
Tackle obstacles I stepped aside.
Learn to stand out in the open,
Allowing myself to enjoy the ride.
Place family before career,
Make it home for dinner every night.
Make love instead of war,
Bite my tongue instead of fight.
Kiss my wife a little more often,
Go to bed when she does.
Wake up more refreshed,
Shake off the morning fuzz.
Give more to the church’s offering,
Place God first in my life.
Be content with my surroundings,
Cherish my son and my wife.
