First Love
January 2, 2003
Do you remember our first kiss?
I close my eyes, and reminisce.
So very long ago,
I still remember it though...
The time was right, we were both ready,
You took my hands, and held them steady.
Each movement took a century, for you to find my lips,
I felt that long warm shudder, down to my fingertips.
I savored each sensation,
Of your sweet intoxication.
My arms slipped up around your neck,
As we danced alone, on the darkened deck.
The party going on inside,
Was lost for me when you happily sighed.
You drew back and gave your smile,
And I kept that simple joy, I made it worthwhile.
Our heartbeats touched that night, and became a symphony.
Together we experienced, a miracle, an epiphany.
At that moment I could not explain my love,
I felt it, but it was too hard to speak of.
Forever I regret,
When you said those words as our eyes met.
For I never let you see,
That feeling deep inside me.
You are the only one that stays,
The only, I praise.
And still you do exceed,
In my every wish, my every need.
Our manifestation of great emotion,
My ardent love for you, a devotion.
My first love, I still you hold you above...
You are my leading light to find,
My next true love, and let it all unwind,
For my admiration to you still is kind,
Yet,
No longer are you mine.
