Lay me bare
There’s nothing left of me to hide
Candlelight
Casts shadows
That dance throughout my soul’s divide
Well of tears
Bleeding veins
Drink till you’re intoxicated
Drunk with pain
High on hate
Black heart so contaminated

Strip me down
Touch my skin
Every scar a soft reminder
Every break
Every mend
Made me just a touch unkinder
Fall apart
At your feet
Left behind one too many times
Mind abused
Heart misused
Left here with all these wretched rhymes

Strip me down
Slip inside
Acknowledge every ragged edge
Kiss my wounds
Love me dry
Talk me off this precipice ledge
Taste my tears
Bleed my blood
In too deep to cover up now
So exposed
I can’t breathe
Please let me disappear somehow

Strip me down
Lay me bare
There’s nothing left of me to hide
