sunlight, like scotch whiskey
in the bottom of a glass
i was dreaming of you
walking toward me
in the orchard
the trees heavy with fruit
you were suntanned and smiling
i was wearing a blue dress
my hair blowing in the breeze

your arms around me
would they be protective?
your breath on my cheek
like a promise of heaven
we fit together so perfectly
all our imperfections
perfectly revealed
under the shady tree
where pleasure
became our paradise

passionfruit, we found it
love's succulent juices
we laughed with abandon
having found each other
in this strange and foreign place
what are the chances
we would
look into each other's eyes
