What Canadians Have To Remember

In a silent unmarked grave,
Lays a soldier who was so brave.
He marched off for fame and glory,
But what he found would make one sorry.
Death and pain with each day,
On foreign soil so far away.
But he fought to give us peace,
So some day all wars would cease.
He hoped some day that we would see,
That a price had to paid for us to be free.
And tha we would remember with shame,
That in war there is no fame; it's a dying game.
So once a year all over our land,
In solemn silence we stand,
Wearing a poppy, scarlet red,
In Remembrance of the dead,
Who fought to keep our land free,
From sea to shining sea.
